Linoleum, 2026
XYZ (2026)
was presented at the LINOLEUM - Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival, held from 29 September to 4 October 2026 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Selected for the Experimental Animation and Video Art section, the film screened on 30 September at UNIT.Core, as part of the curated programme Felix culpa.
Founded in 2014, LINOLEUM is one of Ukraine's leading platforms dedicated to independent animation and contemporary media art. Bringing together international filmmakers, animators and visual artists, the festival promotes artistic experimentation through film screenings, lectures, workshops and professional exchanges. Its programme embraces a wide range of moving-image practices, encouraging dialogue between animation, experimental cinema and interdisciplinary artistic research.
Curated by Yuliia Kuznietsova, Felix culpa explored ideas of loss, memory and transformation, drawing its title from the Latin expression describing a misfortune that ultimately gives rise to something positive. Presented alongside international works approaching these themes through diverse visual techniques and artistic perspectives, XYZ contributed its own investigation of geometry, architectural space and visual perception, extending the film's international circulation within a programme dedicated to experimental approaches to the moving image.
