Squatfabrik #4, 2022
Artistic Residency at Kulturfabrik , LuxembourgDuring the month of November of 2022, Alexandre Alagôa was invited to be part of SQUATFABRIK#4, an artistic residency programme at Kulturfabrik, in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), in order to develop new audiovisual work.
The artist set two goals: 1) to continue the production of a new experimental film focused on perception and entoptic phenomena, which he had already started during Spring of the same year; and 2) to develop a series of new audiovisual installations exploring the physicality of images through the use of metal, a crucial material for the historical industrial past of the city of Esch.
On the 26th of November, Alagôa presented his new film When I Close My Eyes I See Everything at the Kinosch (the cinema room) of Kufa’s cultural center, and the five resulting audiovisual installations - Friction Circuit, Falling Eye, Soleil Rouge, Metal Waves and Its Own Unmaking - at Gallery Terres Rouges.
